At the end of 2011, Petrol wished to connect its employees with their local community. They also wanted to facilitate closer relations between employees and give them credit for good deeds. This is how the Our Energy Connects campaign was designed.
Our Energy Connects was a humanitarian campaign in which Petrol donated the funds that it would otherwise have spent at the end of 2011 for New Year’s presents to local communities hosting Petrol’s petrol stations. Who actually received the donation in an individual community was decided by the employees of the individual petrol stations. At the end of 2011, Petrol had 304 petrol stations in Slovenia and the company made the same number of donations, as employees of all petrol stations participated in the campaign. Donation recipients included both individuals and various organisations.
The idea of the campaign focuses on Petrol employees, the needs of their local community and the problems that connect them. The project is designed to enable future continuation, both in Slovenia and in other Petrol markets. At the same time, the project significantly contributed to the affiliation of employees and their transferring of corporate values into practice.
At the Slovenian Conference on Public Relations, which took place from 7 to 9 November 2012, the project received the Prism Award in the category of campaigns by for-profit organisations and comprehensive campaigns.
